Battalion 1 detected a smoke column and quickly requested additional resources to investigate. Firefighters arrived in the 2900 block of West Thorpe Road within ten minutes and found the fire burning under an acre in a timbered area. Thanks to the coordinated efforts, the fire was contained and mopping up began just over an hour after arrival. The cause of the fire is under investigation and deemed suspicious, leading officials to seek information about a dark-colored Ford Ranger seen leaving the vicinity shortly after the fire was reported.
