The crowd swelled to thousands, prompting SPD to maintain open communication with protest organizers to address safety concerns. As the demonstration progressed, officers issued multiple warnings for demonstrators to avoid obstructing main roadways, which led to a decrease in crowd size by the evening. When dispersal orders were issued at 8:44 p. m.

due to continued roadway obstruction, the situation escalated, resulting in 11 arrests for failure to comply. SPD utilized inert smoke and pepper balls to encourage compliance after dialogue with protesters became confrontational. Chief Kevin Hall emphasized the department's dedication to protecting constitutional rights while ensuring safety. Matthew Danielson, Executive Director of Spokane Pride, praised the collaboration with SPD for a successful event. The police department clarified that no curfew was in place, countering misinformation circulating online.
