Spokane Police Department Statement on June 14 No Kings Demonstration Following Pride Parade

Spokane, WALocal News

The Spokane Police Department (SPD) managed a large protest following the Pride Parade on June 14, 2025, which began as a peaceful demonstration but evolved throughout the day. Officers kept open lines of communication with organizers, contributing to a cooperative atmosphere initially. By 8:44 p. m. , after warnings to vacate roadways were ignored, SPD issued dispersal orders, leading to 11 arrests for failure to comply.

Inert smoke and pepper balls were deployed to encourage protesters to leave the streets safely. SPD clarified that no curfew was in effect, countering online misinformation, and worked with local mall leadership to direct patrons properly. Matthew Danielson from Spokane Pride commended the collaborative efforts with the SPD to maintain safety during the event. Chief Kevin Hall emphasized the department's commitment to protecting constitutional rights while ensuring public safety. The SPD will review their actions to uphold their values of professionalism and accountability.
