The facility, featuring a grass course with 5K, 6K, 8K, and 10K loop options, aims to attract regional and national events, boosting sports tourism and local revenue. Mayor Pam Haley highlighted the venue's role in supporting local businesses and essential city services. The Course will host its first competitions in November 2025, with a full season slated for 2026, including a grand opening celebration in spring. Spokane Sports played a crucial role in the project, advising on design and event recruitment to maximize economic impact.

The venue can accommodate various levels of cross country events, from middle school to collegiate competitions. The project received funding from multiple sources, including $6. 9 million from lodging tax revenue and grants totaling over $300,000. This initiative aligns with the city's 2023 Tourism Strategic Plan, which recognized a cross country venue as favorable for tourism development.
