A fatal car-pedestrian collision occurred on westbound I-90 yesterday, leaving the pedestrian dead. The Washington State Patrol identified the striking vehicle as a black Toyota Sequoia, which fled the scene before becoming disabled. The driver was arrested after attempting to carjack another vehicle and engaging in a confrontation with troopers. Initial investigations revealed that the pedestrian was associated with a red vehicle that was disabled on the shoulder. They crossed the freeway and were struck by the Sequoia, which was driving on the left shoulder.

WSP detectives are seeking witnesses to gather additional information and video evidence of the incident. This tragic event highlights ongoing concerns regarding pedestrian safety on highways. Authorities urge anyone with information to reach out to the detectives involved in the case.
