North Bend City Council Approves Construction Contract for Meadowbrook Sewer Project

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

On June 3, 2025, the North Bend City Council unanimously approved moving the Meadowbrook Sewer Utility project into the construction phase. The city awarded the contract to Northwest Construction, Inc. , which submitted the lowest bid. Mayor Mary Miller highlighted the project as a demonstration of local government effectively serving its community. The sewer extension will replace aging septic systems, promoting public health and allowing for development that aligns with existing zoning for mixed-use.

Construction is set to last between 12 to 14 months, with initial work focusing on installing a sewer pipe for a low-pressure grinder pump system. Most affected parcels currently rely on septic systems, many of which do not meet public health standards. The city anticipates construction will primarily occur along existing roads, minimizing disruption. By early 2027, property owners will have the option to connect to the new sewer system, marking a significant upgrade in local infrastructure.
