Kicking off on October 1, 2025, the in-person academy will feature sessions led by various city departments, including the police, fire, and public works. Mayor Katherine Ross highlights the importance of the program in connecting residents with their local government and enhancing community involvement. Participants will gain insights into the city’s structure, budget, and strategic goals through interactive sessions and facility tours. The academy is open to residents aged 18 and older and is capped at 15 participants, encouraging early registration.

Sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings and one Saturday morning, with a diverse curriculum addressing topics from land use to emergency management. If demand exceeds capacity, an additional session may be offered in Spring 2026. Interested residents can register online through the city's official website.
