Thousands Without Power Across Snoqualmie Valley After Weekend Windstorm

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

A severe windstorm has caused power outages for about 115,000 customers in Snoqualmie Valley and Puget Sound Energy's service area. Since the storm began, crews have restored power to over 380,000 customers. Local outages are most significant in North Bend, Snoqualmie, and Fall City. The storm's high winds, with gusts nearing 60 mph, led to substantial damage in Thurston and Pierce counties, where both neighborhood and larger transmission lines suffered. PSE has deployed 69 crews to the field, supplemented by external reinforcements, to address the widespread damage.

Helicopters are conducting inspections of the transmission lines, which are crucial for restoring neighborhood service. No estimated restoration times are available yet, but updates will be provided as assessments are completed. Residents must remain vigilant and report downed lines to ensure safety.
