Caregiver Connection Conference offers resources, support for Eastside caregivers

The Caregiver Connection Conference, hosted by the Far East Senior Hub, is set for November 15 from 8:30 a. m. to 1 p. m. at the Issaquah Senior Center.

This free event addresses the challenges faced by caregivers in the Eastside, where resources are often limited. Dori Gillam will deliver the opening address on resilience, emphasizing emotional strength for caregivers. Breakout sessions will cover various topics, including art therapy, recreational therapy, and meditation techniques, providing practical tools for managing stress and enhancing well-being. Additionally, a resource fair will feature local respite care and memory care providers as well as state representatives discussing caregiver recruitment. Participants must register by November 10 to secure free on-site respite care provided by Visiting Angels.

The event starts with a continental breakfast, fostering community engagement. This initiative aims to empower caregivers with the necessary resources and support networks.
