Nighttime and Weekend Closures Scheduled for SR 18 On-Ramps to I-90

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The closures of the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramps to I-90 will begin on Oct. 1, affecting both eastbound and westbound traffic. Eastbound access will be restricted nightly from 9 p. m. to 5 a.

m. until Oct. 3, while the westbound ramp will close from 9 p. m. on Oct.

3 to 5 a. m. on Oct. 6. Detours will guide drivers to minimize delays; specifically, the eastbound detour will direct traffic to loop around at Preston/Fall City.

Crews aim to install guardrails and landscaping as part of the ongoing I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project, which includes a new diverging diamond interchange. The project also involves widening SR 18 to accommodate two lanes in each direction, scheduled for completion later this fall. Freight traffic should avoid Issaquah-Hobart Road and Issaquah city streets, deemed unsuitable for semi-trucks. Delays are expected during the closures, emphasizing the need for drivers to plan accordingly. The improvements will enhance traffic flow and safety in the region.
