Westbound I-90 Down to One Lane in Issaquah and Westbound I-90 Off-Ramp to SR 18 Closed this Weekend

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close up to three right lanes of westbound I-90 in Issaquah from 8 pm, Sept. 19, to 8 am, Sept. 21, leaving only one lane open for traffic. This closure is necessary for repairs to two aging bridges, which are part of a project aimed at extending their lifespan since they were built in 1970 and 1971. Travelers should plan for significant delays and consider alternate routes due to the expected traffic congestion.

The East Sunset Way on-ramp to westbound I-90 will also close, with a signed detour guiding drivers to an alternate on-ramp. Crews will replace aging pavement, waterproof membranes, and repair expansion joints during this lane reduction. Similar repairs were conducted on the left half of the bridges the previous weekend. WSDOT indicates that additional lane reductions for further repairs will occur over the next two weekends, with the first scheduled for Sept. 26–28.

Real-time travel information is available via the WSDOT mobile app and travel map.
