City Council Approves Contract to Begin Construction of Rivertrail Project in Downtown Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Snoqualmie City Council approved Resolution No. 1724 on September 8, 2025, awarding a $2 million contract to Accord Contractors for the Rivertrail project. This initiative will remove flood-prone properties and develop a three-mile loop trail that connects Snoqualmie Falls to downtown and the Meadowbrook area. The first phase, Rivertrail Northwest, will create one mile of soft surface trails and restore the river shoreline, paving the way for future connections. Mayor Katherine Ross noted that this project represents a significant milestone in enhancing the community's accessibility to the Snoqualmie River's scenic beauty.

Construction is set to begin later this month, with the majority of work expected to be completed by summer 2026. The project has been in the planning stages for over a decade, reflecting the city's commitment to improving infrastructure and environmental restoration. Additionally, it aims to boost local tourism by providing recreational opportunities along the riverfront. For further details, residents can visit the dedicated River Trail project page.
