Overnight Lane Closures on I-90 Near Snoqualmie Begin Monday, Sept. 8

Westbound I-90 will be reduced to one lane overnight on Sept. 8 near the State Route 18 interchange in Snoqualmie for the installation of traffic counting loops. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the two left lanes from 9 p. m. to 5 a.

m. the following morning, resulting in expected delays for travelers. Eastbound I-90 will also experience lane closures from 8 p. m. to 6 a.

m. for similar installation work. The I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project aims to enhance traffic flow and safety, involving the construction of a diverging diamond interchange and widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction. This project is slated for completion later this fall. Weekend closures on westbound I-90 for bridge repairs are planned from Sept.

12-14, with similar lane reductions expected throughout the month. All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unfavorable. Drivers are advised to consider alternate routes during the closures.
