Updated Serious Collision Closes Two Lanes on Westbound I-90 at Exit 32

A serious collision between two semi-trucks on westbound I-90 near Exit 32 led to a fatality investigation and extensive traffic delays on Wednesday. The crash occurred around 1 p. m. , resulting in two patients being extricated from the wreckage and transported with life-threatening injuries. The Washington State Department of Transportation confirmed that two right general purpose lanes and the ramp from 436th Avenue SE remain blocked.

The Washington State Patrol is working to reopen lane two while the ramp will stay closed for an extended period. Trooper Rick Johnson emphasized that an extended closure is expected as crews work to clear the scene. Emergency services, including fire crews and the Incident Response Team, are on-site to manage the situation. Officials urge drivers to avoid the area and exercise caution due to anticipated long delays. This incident highlights ongoing safety concerns on major highways involving commercial vehicles.
