City Academy Relaunches this October Go Behind the Scenes to Learn about City Operations

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The City of Snoqualmie has announced the relaunch of its City Academy, a free six-week program designed to educate residents about local government operations. The program, starting on October 1, 2025, offers weekly sessions hosted by different city departments, providing opportunities for residents to meet city leaders and ask questions. Mayor Katherine Ross highlighted the initiative's role in fostering community engagement, stating, "A more informed community is a more involved community. " The academy is open to residents aged 18 and older, with a limit of 15 participants to facilitate meaningful interactions. Registration is available online, and if there's high interest, the city may offer another session in Spring 2026.

The curriculum includes interactive sessions, tours of city facilities, and discussions on topics such as land use and emergency management. This initiative aims to strengthen connections between the city and its residents. The program underscores the city's commitment to transparency and civic engagement.
