Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The City of Snoqualmie will relaunch its City Academy program this fall, providing residents with a free six-week course on local government operations. This initiative aims to enhance community engagement by offering direct interaction with city leaders and insight into municipal services. Mayor Katherine Ross highlighted the importance of the program, stating, “A more informed community is a more involved community. ” Participants will have access to various departments, including public works, police, and fire services, with sessions designed to cover topics from land use planning to emergency management. The schedule includes sessions held on Wednesday evenings and one Saturday morning session, starting on October 1 and concluding on November 5.

Enrollment is limited to 15 residents aged 18 and older, with registration available online at the city’s website. The city may consider an additional session in spring 2026 if demand exceeds capacity. This program represents a significant effort to build stronger connections between city officials and the community.
