Snoqualmie, WALocal News

Girl Scout Troop 42805 donated 26 pet adoption kits to Sno Valley Pet Services, enhancing support for local animal rescues. The kits included essentials such as cozy blankets, toys, and treats aimed at helping adopted pets acclimate to their new homes. Funded by the sale of over 5,000 cookie boxes, the troop's initiative also aligned with their goal of earning the Bronze Award through community service. Troop leader Larissa Kirkwood highlighted the lessons of teamwork and compassion that the project instilled in the girls. Susan Burk, president of Sno Valley Pet Services, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the scouts' contributions, noting the special impact of youth-led initiatives.

The girls conducted research and even toured Pet Place Market to understand the needs of pet owners better. They also handcrafted additional supplies like cat scratchers from cookie boxes and braided dog toys. This project not only benefited the pets in need but also fostered a sense of community among the scouts.
