Pacific Northwest Performing Arts is set to celebrate its grand opening and scholarship fundraiser on September 13 from 6 to 9 p. m. at its new facility in Snoqualmie Ridge. The event, titled “100 for $100: Raise the Curtain Grand Opening,” aims to raise funds for scholarships that help students access performing arts education without financial barriers. Katrina Gangsaas, Vice President of fundraising for Big Star Boosters, highlighted the importance of the scholarship program, which covers tuition, production fees, and performance-related costs.

Attendees can enjoy live entertainment, raffle prizes, and local vendor shopping, with all proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund. The organization, which has rebranded from Big Star Studios, is focused on becoming a regional hub for performing arts education. Owner Corey Schwarz noted that the new facility offers professional-grade training spaces, including spacious rehearsal studios and a dedicated dance room. Community support will be crucial, as the organization plans to offer “Pay What You Can” community theatre classes. The excitement surrounding the rebrand and new facility reflects a growing interest in performing arts within the community.
