Weekday Lane Closures Resume Aug. 4 on SR 203 Near Carnation for Fish Passage Project

Starting August 4, construction on a fish barrier removal project will lead to single-lane closures on SR 203 near Carnation during weekdays from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone for approximately eight weeks.

The Washington State Department of Transportation's contractor will upgrade utilities, remove an existing culvert, and improve habitat within the stream bed. This project follows the completion of a new SR 203 bridge over a tributary to the Snoqualmie River, finished in February. Enhancing fish passage is a key objective of the improvements, reflecting ongoing efforts to support local wildlife. Real-time travel information is available through the WSDOT mobile app and website. Crews aim to minimize disruptions while ensuring the safety and efficiency of the work.
