Temporary Fixes Coming to Ease Eastbound I-90 Off-Ramp Congestion at SR 18 Diverging Diamond

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) confirmed it will implement immediate fixes to address traffic congestion at the eastbound I-90 off-ramp to the new SR 18 diverging diamond interchange. Measures include installing plastic pylons to divide traffic and placing portable electronic signage to guide drivers. Re-striping the off-ramp will also take place, which may require an overnight closure. Mayor Ross is working with the Washington State Patrol and other officials to ensure safety at the interchange remains a priority. WSDOT expects long queues to diminish once SR 18 expands to two lanes in each direction later this fall, easing backups.

The diverging diamond interchange is the first phase of a larger project aimed at improving traffic flow in the area. WSDOT encourages drivers to follow signage and exercise patience during peak travel times. These near-term changes are expected to enhance emergency access to northbound Snoqualmie Parkway as ramp flow improves.
