The Monroe Community Band will present a free concert titled "Pixelated Melodies" on June 21, featuring music from beloved video games like The Legend of Zelda and Skyrim. Inspired by a Seattle concert, band member Mark Ainsworth and his daughter sought to bring that experience to their community, as noted by marketing coordinator Trinity Mann-Beam. The band faces the challenge of adapting video game music for a live setting, relying on commercially available arrangements that honor the original compositions. "We want our audience to recognize the power of music in everyday life," a band representative stated. The concert starts at 7 p.

m. at the Wagner Performing Arts Center, ensuring accessibility for all. The Monroe Community Band, a nonprofit organization, emphasizes community involvement and artistic appreciation. A special committee of band members selected the repertoire, showcasing their collaborative spirit. Following this concert, the band will host a Christmas concert in December and plans a spring performance focused on American music.
