Dock at Blackman Lake re-opens for public

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Robert S. Keaton Memorial Dock at Hill Park reopened to the public after reconstruction efforts were completed last week. The city had closed the dock in January 2024 due to safety concerns linked to its condition. Rebuilding efforts included major work on the dock's underside and a partial deck replacement. This dock serves as one of two public docking options on Blackman Lake, alongside a metal floating dock.

Built by the Snohomish Sportsmen’s Club and the Tillicum Kiwanis Club in the early 1980s, the dock has been a local fixture for decades. The city invested in the reconstruction to ensure safety and accessibility for recreational activities. The reopening not only restores a community asset but also supports local fishing and boating interests. Residents can now enjoy enhanced access to Blackman Lake, promoting outdoor activities in the area.
