Road Closures Allow Bridge Replacement Projects to Finish in Single Season

Snohomish, WALocal News

Snohomish County will close Swamp Creek Bridge 503 and Jordan Creek Bridge 214 for replacement projects beginning June 25 and June 19, respectively, with closures lasting until October 2025. The Swamp Creek project aims to eliminate current vehicle weight limits and enhance pedestrian connectivity with existing sidewalks, addressing the area's increasing traffic demands. A signed detour will redirect traffic around the construction site. Meanwhile, Jordan Creek Bridge 214 will also remove weight restrictions and introduce additional travel lanes to improve traffic flow. Local access will remain available for property owners during the projects, which is crucial for minimizing disruption.

Residents can sign up for email or text notifications on the project's webpages for updates. Additionally, a separate culvert replacement project will occur on Barker Rd, requiring a two-week road closure. Snohomish County Public Works oversees these initiatives, focusing on safety and mobility while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
