Pat Pehling has been named the 2025 Evergreen State Fair Honoree, recognizing her decades of service and mentorship in 4-H programs. Starting her journey in 1961, she has attended every Evergreen State Fair since 1962, initially as a participant and later as a volunteer. Pehling has mentored approximately 10,000 individuals, primarily within the equine program, and has been instrumental in growing the Snohomish County 4-H treasury to between $30,000 and $50,000 annually through her fundraising efforts. She has held key leadership roles, including Awards Chair and Policy and Resolution Chair, and is known for her expertise in parliamentary procedure. On the state level, she chairs the Equine Advisory Committee and has coordinated major events like the 4-H Horse Bowl.

Fair Manager Mike Ohlsen highlighted her as the heart of 4-H at the fair, underscoring her dedication to youth development. Pehling has received numerous accolades, including the State 4-H Alumni Award and Leader of the Year. The community will celebrate her achievements at the fair's Opening Ceremony on August 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
