Everett seeking to be official Creative District

Snohomish, WALocal News

Everett's city government has opened a community survey to facilitate its pursuit of becoming a certified Washington State Creative District. The survey, accessible at www. everettwa. gov/creativedistrict, invites responses from both residents and those outside the city, focusing on what makes Everett appealing and what challenges it faces. Mayor Cassie Franklin stated that creativity is central to Everett's identity and essential for economic advancement.

The Washington State Creative District program, managed by ArtsWA, provides certified districts with marketing resources, grant opportunities, and technical support. This designation is expected to attract new investments and stimulate the growth of small businesses in the area. Downtown Everett is being considered as the focal point for the Creative District. Franklin's comments underscore the importance of supporting local talent and fostering a vibrant community. The initiative reflects a broader trend of cities leveraging creativity as a catalyst for economic development.
