Snohomish, WALocal News

On May 17, hundreds of families attended the Paine Field Community Day, despite the rainy weather, at the county-owned airport located between Everett and Mukilteo. The event showcased a variety of aircraft, from new models to vintage planes, and allowed attendees to explore some, including a sheriff’s office helicopter. Young visitors, like 7-year-old Leo Bailey and his friend Sasha, experienced hands-on learning by trying out the "stick and rudder" of a small Boeing Flight Club two-seater. Local families expressed excitement about the event, recognizing its role in promoting aviation awareness and education within the community. This annual celebration aims to cultivate interest in aviation among children and families in the region.

The event also underscores the importance of community engagement in the aviation sector. Paine Field has been a key site for fostering local interest in aviation, hosting similar events in the past. Such initiatives are essential for inspiring future generations to consider careers in aviation and aerospace.
