Annual Sky Valley motorcycle show May 18 to be in Granite Falls

Snohomish, WALocal News

The annual Sky Valley motorcycle show will be hosted in Granite Falls on May 18, moving from Snohomish where it has occurred for 25 years. Organizers cited increased costs, including a new $250 permit fee, and logistical challenges in Snohomish as reasons for the relocation. City Manager Brent Kirk expressed optimism about the event's potential to boost local tourism, stating it would provide an early-season attraction for the community. The show will run from 9 a. m.

to 4 p. m. along Stanley Street, drawing thousands of attendees to admire motorcycles. Snohomish officials noted that closing First Street for the event did not significantly benefit local businesses, except for bars and restaurants. In 2024, the show faced issues related to trash cleanup and road reopening, leading to stricter permit conditions.

Granite Falls has a history of hosting events like the Show and Shine car show, and officials believe the motorcycle show will fit well into their community calendar. The Sky Valley Chapter of ABATE, which organizes the show, advocates for motorcyclists' safety and legislative rights.
