Nathan and his nephew Nova participated in a youth fishing day at Jennings Park Pond in Marysville on May 3, hosted by the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Youth Organization. This event was the first of three days designed to introduce local youth to fishing and outdoor activities. A free fishing day will occur on May 10 at Thornton A. Sullivan Park from 8 a. m.

to 1 p. m. , followed by another on May 17 at Gissberg Twin Lakes Park, also from 8 a. m. to 1 p.

m. These events aim to engage children and families in recreational fishing while promoting stewardship of local waterways. The organization emphasizes the importance of teaching youth about fishing techniques and environmental conservation. Participants can learn valuable skills and connect with nature through these activities. Community involvement is encouraged to strengthen local ties and support youth engagement in outdoor recreation.

The fishing days are part of a broader initiative to foster an appreciation for natural resources among younger generations.
