Traffic delays expected in Everett, WA amid SR-529 closures

Snohomish, WALocal News

WSDOT warns drivers to prepare for significant traffic congestion in Everett as northbound SR-529 closes for construction from May 2 at 11 p. m. to May 6 at 11 p. m. The closure will impact traffic flow on I-5 and could cause delays in both directions.

Southbound lanes of SR-529 will remain open, ensuring continued access to local facilities, including the Animal Shelter and Langus Riverfront Park. A shuttle service will be provided for pedestrians, cyclists, and those using mobility devices during the closure. WSDOT urges drivers to plan alternative routes and allow for extra travel time. This closure marks the first of four planned extended closures of SR-529 throughout May. Additional closures are scheduled for May 9-13, May 16-20, and May 30-June 2, with southbound lanes closing during the latter two periods.

The ongoing construction aims to improve the infrastructure of State Route 529.
