Snohomish County is now accepting applications for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which provides low-income seniors with $80 benefit cards for purchasing fresh produce from local farmers. Eligible applicants must be residents aged 60 and older, or 55 and older for Native Americans, with income limits set at $2,413 per month for a single person. Applications can be submitted online or by mail, with a deadline of May 5, 2025. The program not only enhances access to nutritious food but also supports local agriculture by promoting farmers markets and community-supported agriculture. In 2025, SFMNP aided over 2,700 seniors in accessing fresh produce, highlighting its role in community health.

Cards will be distributed to eligible applicants by mid-June and must be utilized by October 31, 2025. The program is sponsored by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and state health agencies. For assistance, seniors can contact the Snohomish County Aging and Disabilities Resource Network.
