WA native, astronaut talks to FOX 13 from International Space Station

NASA astronaut Anne McClain is currently stationed aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as the commander of the SpaceX Crew-10 mission, which launched on March 14, 2025. A Spokane native, McClain reflects on her journey and the heightened responsibilities she faces in leading the crew. She emphasizes that living aboard the ISS is a collective international effort, with countless individuals contributing to the mission's success. McClain's prior experience includes a 204-day mission on the ISS in 2018, where she completed two spacewalks. The Crew-10 team is set to conduct over 200 scientific experiments, aimed at advancing research for future missions, including NASA's Artemis program.

McClain believes in the importance of mentorship, stating, "when you get to goals, don’t forget to send the elevator back down for the next people. " Her story illustrates the significance of tenacity and self-belief in achieving ambitious goals.
