Homeless housing site in Everett lays unused after disagreements between operators
Faith Family Village, a tiny home village in Everett aimed at providing temporary shelter for homeless families, has entered a hiatus after operational disagreements among its managing organizations. Opened in September 2023, the initiative successfully housed 22 families but faced challenges that led to the withdrawal of Faith Food Bank. Roxana Boroujerdi, the former executive director, highlighted the financial losses and mismanagement concerns that prompted the hiatus. Fortunately, families were not displaced during this transition, as Interfaith Family Shelter facilitated their moves into permanent housing. Plans are now underway to revive the project under a new name, Madison Family Village, focusing on sustainability and long-term support for families in need.
City officials remain optimistic about resolving the issues that led to the closure, emphasizing the community's ongoing need for such programs. The collaboration between the city and local organizations highlights the importance of effective partnerships in addressing homelessness. As the initiative seeks to relaunch, it aims to reaffirm its commitment to supporting families on the path to stable housing.
