Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish County Assessor’s Office has announced the results of the 2024 property tax measures, revealing that local voters approved 11 out of 21 proposed tax increases, significantly affecting the 2025 property tax statements. Voter approvals included levies for fire districts, a town levy, and numerous school district levies, indicating strong community support for local funding. The total property taxes collected in 2025 are projected to increase by 5. 96%, amounting to $1. 851 billion, a notable rise from the previous year’s $1.

747 billion. This increase is driven by a substantial growth in assessed property values, which rose from $212 billion to $223 billion. While some levy rates decreased due to higher assessed values, increases were noted for voter-approved measures, including multi-year lid lifts and banked capacity levies, particularly impacting the City of Lynnwood. Additionally, the State levies in Snohomish County increased by approximately 9. 79% from the previous year.

Property tax relief programs are available for seniors and disabled individuals, with new legislation raising the disposable income threshold to $75,000 for the 2025 tax year.
