New Community Officer at Snohomish PD is link between public and department

Snohomish, WALocal News

Deputy Taylor Davis has officially taken on the role of Community Outreach Deputy at the Snohomish Police Department, aiming to bridge the gap between the police and the community. This position, which had been unfilled for years, is designed to facilitate public interaction that goes beyond emergency situations. Chief Nathan Alanis stressed the importance of this role, noting that Davis will focus on addressing ongoing community concerns that do not require a 911 call. Davis, who has a background in policing, is eager to engage with residents and assist in public safety education. He plans to host open houses, attend neighborhood meetings, and connect with the business community to address their concerns.

His first public engagement was at a city resource fair, where he began establishing connections with local organizations. The department aims to create a supportive environment where residents feel comfortable reaching out for assistance. Overall, Davis' appointment is expected to significantly enhance community relations and improve the quality of life in Snohomish.
