Frontier Airlines is coming to Paine Field

Snohomish, WALocal News

Starting June 2, Frontier Airlines will introduce new flights from Paine Field to Denver, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, operating three times a week with fares beginning at just $29. This marks a significant milestone as it brings the first additional airline to Paine Field in years, complementing the long-standing service provided by Alaska Airlines. Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports, expressed that this new service validates Paine Field's status as the region's "second" airport, enhancing connectivity and offering more travel choices for passengers. The flights aim to alleviate congestion at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, a critical hub for the region. Frontier Airlines operates a fleet primarily consisting of Airbus A320 jets, which are comparable to Boeing 737s.

Ranking as the 7th or 8th busiest airline in the U. S. based on passenger traffic, Frontier serves more travelers than Allegiant Air but fewer than Alaska and Spirit Airlines. This expansion is anticipated to benefit the local economy by providing affordable travel options and improving access to major destinations. The community is expected to welcome this news, as it enhances travel convenience for both residents and visitors.
