The Lunar New Year celebration in Everett was marked by a captivating dragon dance performed by the Northwest Kung Fu and Fitness group at the Pacific Rim Plaza on February 1, 2025. This year's festivities honored the Year of the Wood Snake, a prominent figure within the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, each associated with unique fortunes and personalities. The official Lunar New Year commenced just days earlier on January 29, emphasizing the significance of this cultural occasion for the local community. Individuals born in the Year of the Snake, including those from 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, and 2013, were celebrated for their zodiac traits. The event brought together a diverse audience, showcasing the community's appreciation for rich cultural traditions and communal engagement.
