Teen stabbed on Broadway, suspect sought and is still at large

On January 16, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded in Everett, Washington, when a 13-year-old was stabbed near the 2500 block of Broadway. The Everett Police Department is searching for the suspect, described as a Black male approximately 6 feet tall, who was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and a yellow beanie. The young victim was promptly transported to Providence Regional Medical Center, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed her deep sorrow over this violent act, stating her horror as a parent who used the same route to walk her daughter to school. She reassured the community that public safety remains the city's top priority and that the police will dedicate resources to locate the suspect.

In light of the incident, police have heightened patrols in the vicinity of schools to reassure residents.
