Local kickboxers bring home international gold medals

Dex Morgenstern and Amanda Buckner, local kickboxers from Snohomish’s WildStyle Gym, achieved remarkable success at the World Kickboxing Association Championships in Sheffield, England, each winning two gold medals. The athletes represented the U. S. National Team, competing in both Low Kick Kickboxing and full-contact K1 Kickboxing. Morgenstern highlighted the respect they garnered from other teams, recalling a moment when he held a door for French fighters who acknowledged him.

Coach Jason Morris praised the fighters for overcoming tough opponents, indicating that their matches were not easily won. The support from their gym community and local gyms played a crucial role in their achievements, making the victory a collective success. Both fighters are eager to continue training and competing, indicating a bright future for the gym. WildStyle Gym’s triumph at this international event showcases its potential to nurture elite competitors in the sport.
