Snohomish to see pre-professional USL-W womens soccer team play in town

Snohomish, WALocal News

Snohomish United will launch a women's team in the USL-W League in 2026, becoming the county's first women's team in this pre-professional tier. The initiative follows the establishment of a men's team last year, which had a successful debut season. Local players and alumni, including Sophie Hanson and Zoe Hopkins, are thrilled about the opportunity, emphasizing its significance for young girls aspiring to play soccer. The season runs from mid-May to July, with around six home games set at Stocker Fields. Uderitz, the technical director, confirmed that the league approached them to create a women's team, reflecting the organization's commitment to fostering talent from youth to professional levels.

Notably, some players have already achieved success, with alumni playing in higher leagues. The team aims to build a strong local culture and community support. Tryouts for the women's team are scheduled for December, with details forthcoming.
