Community Health Center of Snohomish County and Everett Public Schools inaugurated two new School-Based Health Centers at Cascade and Everett high schools last week. These centers provide no-cost medical and behavioral health services to all enrolled students, regardless of their insurance status. Joe Vessey, CEO of CHC, stated that the initiative fosters healthier learning environments. The centers aim to reduce barriers to care and support students facing challenges in accessing essential health services. Dave Peters, Director of Student Support Services, highlighted the centers' contribution to promoting equity and access to health care.

Services available include wellness exams, sports physicals, mental health counseling, and chronic disease management. This partnership reflects a broader commitment to enhancing student well-being and academic success in the Snohomish County region. By integrating health services within schools, the initiative seeks to positively impact both student health and educational outcomes.
