The City of Lake Stevens will officially take ownership of Cavalero Hill Park from Snohomish County on October 20, 2025, following a City Council vote on May 20, 2025. This acquisition allows the city to manage and enhance the park, located at 7708 20th Street SE, as part of its commitment to improving local recreational spaces. Mayor Brett Gailey expressed excitement about the transition, highlighting the city's focus on making the park accessible for the community. Parks and Recreation Director Sarah Garceau noted that the city intends to increase maintenance efforts and evaluate opportunities for new amenities post-transfer. A celebration event is scheduled for October 21 at 2:00 p. m. to commemorate this important milestone. Lake Stevens, with a population of 41,260, is located 36 miles north of Seattle.
