Willis Tucker Park Lights Up for Community Play

The Willis Tucker Park Ballfield Lighting Project in Snohomish County has successfully enhanced evening play capabilities for youth sports. Completed in October 2025, the project involved the installation of six energy-efficient light poles at Field 2, allowing for safe evening activities. The dedication ceremony took place on October 17, 2025, with the Mill Creek Little League team participating in the first game under the new lights. Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers emphasized the importance of providing brighter and safer access for year-round healthy activities. Councilmember Jared Mead praised the collaboration between various organizations, showcasing the benefits of community partnerships.

The project received $302,500 from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office's Youth Athletic Facilities Grant Program and included a generous donation of lighting from Musco Sports Lighting, LLC. Sharon Walker from Snohomish County Parks & Recreation highlighted the commitment to safe recreation for all ages. The improvements are expected to benefit the community for decades, promoting health and local business engagement.
