Sound Transit proposes overnight bus service between Everett and Seattle

Sound Transit intends to launch an overnight express bus service between Seattle and Everett, addressing transportation needs when the Link light rail is not in operation. The new ST Express route will connect Everett with downtown Seattle, stopping at major locations like Everett Station and the 112th Park and Ride. Currently, the last Link train departs at 1 a. m. , while many bars and clubs in Seattle close around 2 a.

m. , creating a gap in service for late-night riders. The route will not include stops in nightlife hubs such as Pioneer Square and Capitol Hill; however, riders can utilize the RapidRide G Line for access to these areas. Sound Transit aims to have the overnight bus make stops at 4th and Seneca and 5th and Spring in downtown Seattle. The 2026 Service Plan survey is open until November 7, allowing the public to share feedback on the proposal.

This new service aims to improve late-night transportation options, potentially benefiting both residents and service industry workers. Enhanced transit options could lead to increased accessibility and safety for late-night travelers.
