Reptile Zoo in Monroe wont close after all

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Reptile Zoo in Monroe has decided against permanent closure after an influx of visitors boosted its finances. The owner, who noted the zoo's ongoing financial struggles due to dwindling attendance, announced a temporary cleaning closure from October 19 to November 15. Established 30 years ago, the indoor zoo had faced challenges in recent years, prompting the initial closure announcement. However, the community's response demonstrated strong local support for the attraction. This surge in visitors coincided with efforts to revitalize the zoo's offerings and attract more guests.

The facility, located on U. S. 2 east of Monroe, plays an important role in local tourism. Supporters have emphasized its educational value and contribution to wildlife awareness. The future of The Reptile Zoo now hinges on maintaining this renewed interest and addressing financial hurdles.
