Future county Food and Farm Center open houses this week

Snohomish County will hold two public open houses on Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 to engage the community regarding the future Food & Farming Center planned at McCollum Park. This center aims to support local farmers by providing facilities for processing and distributing fresh produce, a commercial kitchen, and a year-round indoor farmer’s market. The first open house will occur on Thursday, Oct.

9 from 4:30 to 7:30 p. m. , featuring a presentation at 5:30 p. m. at the Northwest Stream Center in Everett.

The second open house is set for Saturday, Oct. 11 from 9 a. m. to noon, with a presentation at 10 a. m.

at the Willis Tucker Park Administration Building in Snohomish. Community members will have opportunities to provide feedback, which will inform the development of the center. After the first meeting, a recording of the presentation and an online survey will be available on the project webpage. This initiative reflects the county's commitment to enhancing local agriculture and food access.
