Snohomish County Cities Join Outdoor Burning Ban Taking Effect July 1

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal announced a Stage 1 outdoor burning ban effective July 1 through August 31, 2025, due to high fire danger. This ban impacts unincorporated areas and cities like Everett and Lynnwood, banning all residential burning, including previously issued permits. Recreational fires are permitted under specific conditions, such as being less than three feet in diameter and monitored continuously. Residents must maintain a water source nearby and ensure fires are at least 25 feet away from structures. The ban may be extended if fire danger remains high, with updates to be communicated through official channels.

A “Red Flag Warning” will prohibit all outdoor burning, including recreational fires, under extreme conditions. The public is urged to use caution when considering recreational fires, as wildfires pose a significant threat. For the latest information, residents can reach out to the Outdoor Burning Information Hotline.
