Snohomish, WALocal News

The 2025 Point-in-Time count in Snohomish County revealed 1,140 individuals experiencing homelessness, reflecting a 1. 8% decrease from 2024. Conducted on January 22, the count utilized the efforts of 340 volunteers and community partners, including social workers and outreach teams. The number of sheltered individuals increased by 11% to 604, largely due to Cold Weather Shelters being open during the count. In contrast, the unsheltered count dropped by 14% to 536 individuals.

Most unsheltered households consisted of adults only, with the number of child-only households falling to zero for the first time. Additionally, demographic analysis showed an increase in Asian American individuals, while the percentages of White and Black or African American individuals decreased. The data underscores the shifting landscape of homelessness in the county, highlighting the ongoing need for effective programs and partnerships. County Executive Dave Somers stressed the importance of these partnerships in connecting individuals to housing and the potential risks posed by federal funding cuts.
