High Fire Danger - Red Flag Warning Issued affecting parts of Snohomish County

Snohomish, WALocal News

The National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning for Snohomish County on July 16, 2025, from 11 a. m. to 11 p. m. , due to significant fire danger stemming from hot and dry conditions.

During this warning, all outdoor fires, including recreational fires, are banned. The county's burn ban, effective since July 1, 2025, suspends all outdoor burn permits, including those for agricultural burning issued by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. Residents are encouraged to check the status of the burn ban and the warning via the county’s website or by contacting the Outdoor Burning Information Hotline at 425-388-3508. It is crucial to note that the existing burn ban remains active even after the Red Flag Warning has passed, requiring a sustained period of rainfall to lift the restrictions. This proactive measure aims to minimize fire risks in the region.

The Snohomish County Department of Planning and Development Services oversees the burn ban and related regulations. Local officials stress the importance of adhering to these regulations to ensure community safety.
