Snohomish County Extends Outdoor Burning Ban

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal has announced the extension of a Stage 1 outdoor burning ban, which will remain in effect until September 14, 2025, due to heightened fire risk. This ban applies to unincorporated areas of Snohomish County, as well as several cities, and prohibits all residential burning, even if a permit has been issued. Recreational fires are permitted under specific guidelines, including a maximum size and distance from combustible materials. The ban may be extended further if fire danger persists, with a new announcement to follow if that's the case. Additionally, all outdoor burning is banned during a "Red Flag Warning," which indicates ideal conditions for wildfires.

The county urges residents to exercise caution with any recreational fires to prevent wildfires. Residents can stay updated by contacting the Outdoor Burning Information Hotline. This ban reflects ongoing efforts to manage fire risks in the region, particularly during dry weather conditions.
