Camp Prov at Providence Everett Children’s Center offers a weeklong day camp for children with special needs and their siblings, promoting an inclusive environment. Managed by Dr. Shanna Van Horn, the program allows kids aged 2 to 13 to participate in adapted activities such as arts and crafts, music, and nature walks. Volunteers, including high school and college students, are trained to create a supportive atmosphere where children can thrive. Josie, a camper, appreciates the freedom to express her creativity without pressure, highlighting the camp's focus on personal expression.

Staff members emphasize building trust and fostering connections among campers, allowing siblings to enjoy their own space while also helping. Logan, a volunteer, shared how the training he received helped him guide children through activities. The camp's unique approach fosters friendships and a sense of accomplishment, encouraging families to return year after year. The sessions this summer ran from July 28 to August 8.
